Broadmoor

In 2003, the Broadmoor Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places, mostly in recognition of its fine collection of early-twentieth-century architecture (especially its bounty of raised-basement houses).

After Hurricane Katrina, many may have thought that Broadmoor would never thrive again as it does today, but thanks to assistance from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, the Broadmoor Improvement Association has helped hundreds of residents return to the neighborhood and brought back a vast majority of its housing stock!

Broadmoor Real Estate consists of houses in the Bungalow, Colonial and other late Nineteenth-Century styles. Because of its history as a neighborhood of low and middle-income residents, homes for sale in Broadmoor are as architecturally diverse as its population!

Numerous hospitals and independent facilities are nearby to keep Broadmoor residents feeling their best. There are many public, private and charter schools in the area. Broadmoor residents beat the heat by heading to the Audubon Institute, which includes a zoo and an aquarium. It also houses the insectarium, which is the largest museum devoted to insects in the country.

Head to Broadmoor to satisfy your curiosity and experience the culture and the rich history of New Orleans!

**Private mortgage insurance is an insurance policy that a residential mortgage lender requires of the borrower if the loan-to-value (LTV) ratio of the home is greater than 80%. Mortgage insurance protects the lender from the risk that the borrower may default on the loan. Federal law requires lenders to notify borrowers when the loan-to-value ratio drops below 80%. Mortgage insurance premiums vary, but generally range from $1,000 to $5,000 a year for an average priced home.
